ATS covers mobility impairment, MS, chronic illness, dialysis requirements, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and more. South Africa has almost nothing written for these groups. We fix that.

Gauteng
Johannesburg is South Africa's economic hub - and Sandton, its most modern district, is also its most accessible urban area. Outside Sandton, the picture is more varied.
KwaZulu-Natal
KwaZulu-Natal combines an accessible coastal city, an underrated game reserve, and one of the world's great wetland parks - making it a strong choice for a first accessible South Africa trip.
Eastern Cape
Addo is frequently the better choice over Kruger for a first accessible safari - smaller, simpler logistics, and a concentration of accessible game viewing infrastructure at Main Camp.
Western Cape / Eastern Cape
The Garden Route is visually spectacular and moderately accessible - but the gap between what looks accessible on a website and what works in practice is wider here than in most South African destinations.
Limpopo / Mpumalanga
Kruger is South Africa's most famous safari destination. Not all camps are equally accessible - and the difference between choosing the right camp and the wrong one is significant.

The ATS Accessibility Score is a verified 0–100 rating applied to every listed property. It is based on physical measurements, photographs, and a structured assessment framework - not self-reported information from the operator. A score of 80+ indicates high accessibility across the full guest experience. Every score is published alongside the specific measurements that produced it.
ATS covers mobility impairment (manual and power wheelchair users, ambulant disabled travellers), MS and fatigue-based conditions, chronic illness and dialysis requirements, visual impairment, and hearing impairment. Most accessible travel content defaults to "wheelchair user" as a catch-all. We do not - different disability types have different questions and we write for them specifically.
Three things: we verify rather than republish operator claims; we cover South Africa only (deep and specific, not broad and thin); and we tell you what won't work for you, not just what will. The mandatory "Not suitable for" section on every listing is something no other accessible travel platform does consistently.
Yes. All destination guides, service guides, and directory listings are freely accessible. Accommodation providers and safari operators pay a verification fee to be listed - traveller access is always free.
Every listing and guide carries a last-verified date. We re-verify after major refurbishments and flag listings that are under review. If you find an inaccuracy, every page has a reporting mechanism so we can investigate and update.
